Internet’s free world attracts dark forces
When you think about it, the Linden Dollar is a reasonably stable convertible currency - Second Life could definitely be a haven for money laundering and fraud. My prediction is that online worlds will eventually be subjected to financial regulation. It may take the legislators a little while to get their act together and realise that virtual currencies are not really "play money" without value, but they'll catch on. When you have that much money flying around (and in increasing amounts), it's got to be regulated.
