Law firms uneasy with personal blogs?
I did mention Hear Ye! in a couple first rounds and got called back for seconds, so it can't be that bad can it? *nervous laugh*

I almost missed out on my Job where I am noor the same reasons. I gave them the name to my blog, and showed them it (just to prove I knew html/asp etc).
I got home, blogged about the interview. 2 hours later my current boss was reading the blog and freaked out that her 1st name was on the internet.
Long story short. She called Recuirting agent, who called me “get my name off there NOW”.
Less, that we’ve all learnt; Don’t blog about work or @ work. (whoops ;) )

Ah yes, you’ve hit on it. That’s the cardinal rule of blogging: don’t write what you’re not comfortable with the world seeing. There’s no such thing as “please don’t distribute my URL, I only want strangers to read it, I don’t want friends and family seeing it”, or “I’m writing this blog but I don’t intend anyone I know to know about it”. People, this is the Internet. People will find you.
However, a partner did mention to me, “If you want to score extra brownie points, you should go home right now and type, I just met with tantastic people from X!” He was joking, I think.
